WHO WE ARE

We are a network of families united by love for the Italian language and culture in Amsterdam. We work together to give children, parents and all people living in the Netherlands the opportunity to be together and enrich each other through the use of Italian and the discovery of Italian culture in its evolution.

We have been a non-profit foundation since 2018 – Lo Stivaletto Foundation – based in Amsterdam.

We use all the profits collected from our activities to cover management costs and to develop new projects.

The activities are coordinated, with commitment, professionalism and infinite energy, by a team of educators, collaborators and volunteers who adhere to our code of conduct (Sound prevention and integrity policy).

If you want to be part of it too, discover the collaboration opportunities below.

OUR VALUES

Community
A set of people who share values, interests, culture, needs.
We believe that sharing at the foundation of every community is a precious source of unity and inclusion.

Family
Any nucleus of people who love each other.
For us, the family is a nucleus of people who love each other and share the desire to build a future together, without distinction of gender, origin, religion, thought or ability. It can be made up of adults and minors, but is not limited to ties recognized by law.

Italianity
Affinity and love for the Italian language and culture.
We share the bond with the Italian language and culture as a source of creativity, growth and enrichment and we explore them in their evolution, beyond stereotypes.

Cultural exchange
The comparison and contamination between different cultures.
We promote Italian culture inside and outside our community to foster exchange and respect for each of the many cultures present in the Netherlands.

INCLUSIVITY

In 2023 we started to think better about our community and decided to embark on a series of changes that better reflected our family vision and ours values.

We want everyone to feel welcome at the boot. This is why we want to commit ourselves more and more to:

  • listen to the needs of single parents, queer families, people without children and all types of family sharing our values;
  • create activities and services capable of responding to various needs and interests;
  • use a inclusive language, in which anyone can identify;
  • increase the accessibility of our communication tools.

It is a path of growth and evolution, not without errors and missteps. We will be happy to hear any ideas, suggestions and opportunities to keep improving.
