Italian for Beginners is a course designed for children aged 4 to 8 who are starting to familiarize themselves with Italian and who mainly use Dutch or English in their daily lives. These languages ​​will be used as support languages, especially at the beginning, to facilitate understanding of the instructions and new vocabulary. The objective is to progressively integrate more and more Italian into interaction and communicative exchange.
The course will start with words, situations and experiences close to the world of children, gradually building a basic vocabulary in Italian. Among the first themes: greetings and simple expressions for everyday interaction, body parts and other familiar elements of everyday life. Each topic will offer the opportunity to discover new words and expressions and use them concretely during the activities.
Through readings, games, sensory and movement activities, the children will be accompanied to understand Italian, become familiar with its sounds and begin to use it in communication. A playful and gradual learning, which will allow the Italian to enter their experience little by little, until it becomes a natural part of the group's activities and social life.

COURSE FORMAT
The course is developed in a cycle of 30 one-hour weekly sessions, every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:00 pm – 4pm at the West location.

Description

Italian for Beginners it is a course designed for children aged 4 to 8 who are approaching Italian or still have very limited knowledge of the language. It is particularly suitable for children who mainly use Dutch or English in their daily lives and who therefore feel more at ease communicating in one of these languages.

Dutch and English as support languages

In the early stages of the journey, Dutch and English will be used as support languages ​​for facilitate understanding. The educator speaks both languages ​​and will therefore be able to use them to explain instructions, introduce new words or help the child understand a situation.
This support allows children to participate in activities with greater confidence, while Italian is introduced progressively. The objective is to gradually increase the presence of Italian in the interaction and communicative exchange with the educator and with other children.

A journey close to the world of children

The lessons will follow a thematic approach, starting from familiar topics and situations that children encounter in their daily lives. In this way it will be possible to build a basic vocabulary in Italian starting from what they already know and recognize.
Among the first themes there may be greetings and the interaction formulas, the parts of the body, the people, objects and situations of everyday life. Each topic will be an opportunity to discover new words and expressions and use them concretely during the activities.

Learning through play and interaction

Learning will be playful, gradual and based on interaction. Games, activities and moments of exchange will allow children to listen, understand and experiment with Italian in a simple and stimulating environment.
The goal is not just to learn new words, but to help children become familiar with Italian and start using it in communication. Through listening, repetition and shared activities, the language will gradually enter their experience, becoming a natural tool for participating, expressing themselves and relating to others.
