Italian-Playing is a cycle of courses in Italian aimed to stimulate cognitive, linguistic, motor and social development of children at early childhood, from birth to 4 years.
Each course is designed to adapt to the specific development children needs according to the age group, creating a stimulating and safe environment.

0-12 months, For babies and new-parents: In the meetings addressed to children from 0 to 1 year we promote sensorial exploration and the emotional relationship with the parent as the first learning channels. Exposure to sounds, listening to nursery rhymes and the exploration of natural materials are very effective activities. Lessons also offer support to those who have become mom or dad recently with ideas, advice and the sharing of experiences.

1-2 years, For children and parents: When the child learns to walk and start to pronounce sounds, we propose linguistic stimuli and fine and coarse more complex motor skills. The activities of the course expand, for example, to the exploration of the drawing, the interaction with games in motion such as a ball, the collection, selection and construction of objects, and then listening to short stories. Thanks to them, children enrich their baggage of emotional, relational, social and linguistic skills.

3-4 years: Around 3 years the interaction with the teacher becomes more dialogue and we begin to propose also 'conceptual' activities to the children, increasingly focused on language skills. The group is also involved in motor and interpretation games, reading of fairy tales and stories, moments of singing and dance, to encourage social skills but also autonomy.

At the end, the child can continue the learning of the tongue with the cycle Italian-Learning.

Description

Italian-Playing 0-12 months

The course 0-12 months is designed for children in the first months of life and their parents. The meetings are designed to stimulate cognitive and communicative development in the first months of life through early exposure and consistent with the Italian language, which becomes the basis for a harmonious bilingualism.
The meetings offer a peaceful, welcoming and stimulating environment, where children and parents share moments of play, listening and discovery, all in Italian. The course favors not only the development of language and cognitive skills, but also accompanies the exploration of the sense-motor skills of the child, through involvement in multisensory experiences.
The sharing of experiences in Italian strengthens the parent-child relationship and, at the same time, the course constitutes a first social context other than that of the home, where Italian is a living and daily language. Finally, the course offers a space for comparison, inspiration and social connection to the neo-generator, who can build new ties with people who speak Italian.

Proposed activities:

  • Italian songs and nursery rhymes, to be repeated at home.
  • Vocal and rhythmic games to stimulate the first visual, gestural and verbal interactions.
  • Animated readings of illustrated books, with visual stimuli suitable for age and short texts.
  • Sensory and motor activities, which favor the association between words, gestures and objects.
  • Exploration of unstructured materials (Treasure Tarmation, Faby box box, travase boxes, sensory and sound bottles, etc.)

Italian-Playing 1-2 years

The 1-2-year course is aimed at supporting the children cognitive and linguistic development in Italian starting from 13-15 months, when they learned to walk. In this age, in fact, they progressively develop the ability to pronounce sounds, then simple words and phrases.
For this reason, the activities with linguistic focus focus on the recognition of objects, the expansion of the vocabulary and the adequate use of words. Through the game and activities to be carried out in the classroom with the parent but also together with the others participating, the course also helps the children to develop its skills of social interaction and understanding of the Italian language.

This offers them numerous advantages:

  • Early exposure to the sounds, rhythms and specific intonations of Italian
  • Development of natural language, without stress or pressure
  • Stimulation towards bilingualism
  • Funny and engaging learning
  • Strengthening the parent-child bond
  • Parental support to support linguistic development even at home

Italian-Playing 3-4 years

The 3-4 year course is designed to offer linguistic input to children through a playful approach and the involvement in exploration and discovery activities. The lessons are structured to be stimulating and dynamic, in order to maintain the attention and interest of the young participants.
Within a welcoming and stimulating environment, children can explore, learn and practice the Italian language through play, music, stories and many creative activities. The proposed activities include traditional songs and movement games to be done together. And then readings aloud inherent to the theme of the meeting, manual activities and small dramatizations, all carried out in Italian.
This multisensory approach facilitates language learning in a natural and spontaneous way. The young participants are also stimulating to socialize and develop their understanding and ability to communicate in Italian.

This offers numerous advantages:

  • Stimulation of bilingualism
  • Strengthening of cultural identity with Italian culture and language
  • Ease of linguistic learning thanks to the playful and natural context
  • Social interaction and the development of friendships with peers who share a similar cultural background
