We have AMAZING NEWS for you: A collection of 100 children's books in Italian curated by Lo Stivaletto is arriving at the OBA as a project partner House of All Languages.
The project was created to enrich the collection of the Oba in Amsterdam through new collections of books in languages other than Dutch, including Italian. The Boot is very proud to have been recognized reference partner for children's literature in Italian of this beautiful project!
The HVAT initiative is an opportunity for children and young people to discover that there are languages other than their own so that they feel like citizens of the world. At the same time it is an opportunity for enhance the mother tongue of children from other cultures, who sometimes find it difficult to use it. Mother tongue in particular it is essential in the formation of the person, because it is the one of emotions, memories and narratives. And it is in fact the language with which an adult who reads to a child is able to best transfer the emotional and linguistic nuances.
The books will be available for loan to all library members. Wonderful!
Not missing that select the 100 books for ages 0 to 12 written by Italian authors. And Lo Stivaletto wants to do it with you!
We are already at work with the support of some children's literature experts, but we also want to collect your suggestions and those of your boys and girls. Because the recipients of this initiative are all of us!
