Over 100 Italian children's books have arrived at the OBA in Amsterdam – in Italian language – that we have selected in recent months as a partner of the HUIS VAN ALLE TALEN project 🎉
The HVAT initiative is an opportunity for children and young people to discover that there are languages other than their own so that they feel like citizens of the world. At the same time it is an opportunity for enhance the mother tongue of children from other cultures, who sometimes find it difficult to use it.
The titles we have selected are already present in the library which, a bit’ at a time, it is inserting them into the catalogue. We can't wait to see them on the shelves and borrow them!

It's about books for ages 0-12 that feed the imagination and the desire to grow up in the great little explorers of the world. But they are also important tools available to families who are confronted with the various stages and circumstances of life: taking off the diaper, giving up the pacifier, going to bed, managing emotions, gender differences, adolescence, parental separation, loss of loved ones, diversity culture, multilingualism …

The titles have been selected with the help and experience not only of our educators and teachers, but also of the children and parents who participate and support our activities.
The catalog includes a rich variety of picture books, game books, comics, fairy tales and short stories suitable both for adult-child relationship reading and for independent reading by the child.

If you are curious to learn more about the selection, follow us on our accounts Facebook e Instagram: we will present them all, or almost all, in the coming weeks.

So keep following us and pop into the library 😉
