The new meetings will start between Saturday 18th and Saturday 25th September Juniors 4-6 years e Boys 7-9 years old: to stimulate children's language skills and their ability to express yourself, read and write in Italian. And from this year the routes are present in all three locations in West, Zuid and Oost with annual duration until July 2022!
Who leads the course
Guiding them will be the creativity of Giovanna, who has been teaching for 28 years and who is also a writer and narrator for children. Her students are aged between four and seventy and what she does best is to create in them the motivation to learn. With the boys and girls of Stivaletto it becomes even more exciting and rewarding, as the enthusiasm they transmit is overwhelming!
Her passions also include dance, to which she has dedicated herself since she was a child, and cooking, which led her to open her own restaurant in Valencia, Spain. For two years she has lived in Amsterdam where she continues her activity as a teacher and writer.
Giovanna loves writing stories. His activity was born naturally from his exposure to the world of children, as well as from his inexhaustible ability to be amazed. Amazement is in fact the key to seeing the beauty, the magic, the fun, in all the little things that surround us and we experience every day. And which can thus become a topic on which to weave a plot.
Junior Meetings
The Junior Stivaletto meetings are aimed at boys and girls aged 4 to 6 years. The activities that Giovanna carries out together with them are inspired by the stories that she herself writes and are designed to support their gradual development of oral expression skills in Italian.
Curiosity, the desire to learn and discover they enliven the participants and everything that is normally proposed is a great success. We work in a well-structured way, but what prevails is creativity.
The meeting begins by chatting about the topic of the meeting. Led by Giovanna, the boys and girls tell everything they know, exchanging data and useful information on the topic. Giovanna then enriches the conversation with new information and curiosities, which stimulate them to ask questions, propose answers and share ideas.
We then move on to interactive reading of the story, so that children feel involved in the creation of the story itself.
Then comes the moment of creativity dedicated to drawing activities, but also music and dance. In this part of the meeting the participants give space to their idea of the story through the images they draw on the sheets. There are no limits, there are no impositions. Expression without prejudices and dictates.
Each phase of the meeting takes place in Italian, also focusing attention on the meaning of the words used and on the expression of the concepts shared together. In this way the development of children's vocabulary is also fueled by interaction with their classmates and by their own imagination.
Dating Guys
the Boys cycle is dedicated to the age group between 7 and 9 years. In addition to deepening the ability to speak in Italian, during the meetings the children they begin to write and read. They already know how to do it or have started to do it in Dutch and the time has come to dedicate themselves to these activities in Italian too.
Giovanna worked with them, starting to highlight the different pronunciation of the syllables compared to Dutch and the small writing difficulties that our language presents. And so we talk about the use of double consonants, the letter H, the syllables GLI, SCI/SCE, etc.
During the meeting the children are invited to read stories aloud and to interpret their roles, discovering the importance of intonation. Likewise, they are stimulated to create a story themselves through the use of games, images and words proposed by Giovanna to support them.
Games such as Scrabble and Syllabandy are played, the aim of which is to increasingly broaden and enrich the vocabulary. We also dedicate ourselves to creative drawing, enriched by the captions of comic book, where young artists create images and write what the protagonists say.
The Children's path offers a 360-degree immersion in the Italian linguistic reality. As already in the Junior meetings, creativity and amazement they guide children to carry out every activity with enthusiasm and passion.

Every Junior and Boys cycle on Saturday – at all locations – It consists of 20 meetings held every two weeks, from September to July 2022.
The Wednesday cycles at West consist of 32 weekly meetings, from September to June 2022.
